Well, it's October, so once again pumpkins are appearing everywhere, and the chill of autumn is in the air! The hot air of summer is almost gone, and the crisp, fall air is comin' on! Ah..... how I welcome these autumn days! October signals the beginning of several fun-filled holidays! Children are settled in the school routine, and football games are the weekend scene! Weenie roasts, toasted marshmallows, bonfires, and hayrides too; fall brings lots of fun-filled things to do! Children look forward to the costumes, festivals, and fun that are all a part of October's setting sun. The days get shorter as autumn appears, and just around the corner winter nears. For now let's celebrate the change of the seasons. The colorful leaves, the cotton at the gins, and fall fests galore are just some of the reasons. Celebrate Fall and Halloween too! I think it's something we all should do!
Trick-or-treaters fill the Halloween scene in their costumes of orange, black, white, purple, and green! Sheets cover some, black capes others, while excited children walk with fathers and mothers. Candies and treats are what they're looking for when they walk from house to house and knock on each door! When the neighborhood walk is complete the weary travelers empty the street. All the excitement has come to an end, but this night of fun is every child's friend!
